This is the first track that I had professionally produced. Actually, this and "Dancing Under Orion" both were produced as part of a compilation album that the Baylor Rising Artist Network (BRAN) put together my freshman year. It was the first compilation of its kind, and took helped various students who performed music flesh out their ideas in a professional setting. I learned so much from this experience.
I auditioned "Dancing Under Orion" and "City of Flames" and the finished product was something I loved. You will love it, too.
lyrics
The city speaks in tongues of fire.
Screaming out, "Let me be free."
With lyrics from the ancient song of freedom:
all we really want is love.
And we call out for you.
We know the truth.
It's just so sad, instead of a rush towards freedom,
we'd rather chill and not fight the day.
How do you find the truth this way?
Last graduation had torn tassles.
Souls lost in a see of red.
In an instant, they might be screaming out
as they head out towards their deaths.
And they call out for you.
They know the truth.
It's just so sad, instead of a rush towards freedom,
we'd rather chill and bow to the day.
How do you find the truth this way?
In backward streets we wander
with chains of gold upon our hands.
We're out of tune, but still in rhythm
with the streets, looking out for love.
We call out for you.
We know the truth.
It's just so sad, instead of a rush towards freedom,
we'd rather chill and not fight the day.
Still, we chill and bow to the day.
How find the truth this way?
